KickVerse Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to KickVerse, its Android app, and the official website at https://kickverse.app.

Information KickVerse processes

KickVerse is designed to process information needed to provide app functionality, accounts, personalisation, notifications, advertising, support, security and service reliability. Depending on how the service is used, this may include the information described below.

The public KickVerse website can be used without signing in.

Accounts and authentication

The Android app may use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous account so that core app features, preferences and notification services can operate without requiring Google Sign-In. An anonymous account is associated with a Firebase user identifier and does not by itself require a user to provide a name or email address.

Google Sign-In

Google Sign-In is optional.

When enabled, Google Sign-In allows users to create or access their KickVerse account. Basic authentication information may include the user's name, email address and profile image.

KickVerse uses this information for account authentication, identification and account-related personalisation.

KickVerse does not request access to a user's Gmail messages, Google Contacts, Google Drive files or Google Account password. KickVerse does not post content to a user's Google Account.

Preferences, favourites and app activity

To provide personalised football content and preserve app settings, KickVerse may process information such as a display name, guest-account status, followed or favourite teams, competitions and players, saved fixtures, notification preferences and match-time-format preferences.

KickVerse may also maintain limited service activity information, such as an active-day count, last-active timestamp, account creation and update timestamps, and internal schema or migration information. This information is used to maintain app functionality, synchronise preferences and improve service reliability.

Notifications

If notifications are enabled or available on the device, KickVerse uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver football alerts and other app notifications. For this purpose, the app may process a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token, platform type, app version and build number. Notification preferences may include alerts for goals, kickoff reminders, lineups, full-time results and team news.

Users can control notification permission through Android settings and can manage available notification preferences in KickVerse.

Advertising and consent

KickVerse uses Google Mobile Ads to display advertising in the Android app and Google's User Messaging Platform to request and manage advertising consent where required. Advertising services may process information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, device or advertising identifiers, interactions with advertisements, and diagnostic information, subject to the user's consent choices and applicable law.

Where required, KickVerse requests advertising consent before ads are requested. Eligible users can revisit available advertising privacy choices through the privacy options provided in the app.

Advertising on the KickVerse website

Advertising is currently disabled on the KickVerse website while site review and consent setup are completed. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or device identifiers to serve, measure and personalise ads, subject to the visitor's consent choices and applicable law.

Google's advertising cookies may be used to show ads based on a visitor's previous visits to KickVerse or other websites. Visitors can manage personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings and can review how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Firebase, security and service providers

KickVerse uses Google Firebase services, including services for authentication, cloud data storage, notifications and app security. KickVerse also uses Firebase App Check with Play Integrity on supported Android releases to help protect backend resources from abuse and unauthorised clients.

Google and other service providers may process information on behalf of KickVerse as necessary to provide their services. Their handling of information is also subject to their applicable privacy terms and policies.

Local device storage

Some preferences and technical information may be stored locally on the device to keep the app working efficiently. This can include app settings, profile and personalisation state, notification topic state and the latest notification registration token.

Support communications

If a user contacts KickVerse for support or a privacy request, KickVerse may process the information the user chooses to provide, including contact details and the contents of the request, so that the request can be answered and resolved.

How information is used

Information may be used to provide and maintain KickVerse, authenticate accounts, synchronise preferences, personalise football content, deliver requested notifications, display and manage advertising, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, protect service security and maintain service reliability.

Data sharing

KickVerse does not sell personal information. Information may be processed or shared with service providers when necessary to operate the service, including Google services used for Firebase infrastructure, notifications, authentication, security, advertising and consent management. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, KickVerse or the security of the service.

Data retention and deletion

KickVerse retains account, app and technical information only for as long as it is needed to provide the relevant functionality, maintain security, resolve support issues, meet operational requirements or comply with applicable legal obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it is held.

Users can request deletion of their KickVerse account and associated data by emailing [email protected]. KickVerse may need to verify the request before completing deletion. Some information may be retained when required for legitimate security, fraud-prevention or legal purposes.

User choices

Users may choose not to use Google Sign-In. Users can manage Android notification permissions, available KickVerse notification preferences and, where applicable, advertising consent or privacy choices. Requests about access, correction or deletion of KickVerse account information can be sent to the support address below.

Children's privacy

KickVerse is a general-audience football service and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, please contact KickVerse using the address below.
